Nestled in Ørstafjorden, only 60 kilometers from Ålesund, you will find a hotel gem of the rare. Havila Hotell Ivar Aasen has existed since 1965. In 2008, the hotel changed its name to Hotel Ivar Aasen.
From 2017, the hotel became part of Havila Hotels and their commitment to tourism in Sunnmøre and in Norway. The hotel in Ørsta is surrounded by mountain peaks and the beautiful Ørstafjord.
We have 72 non-smoking rooms with a view of the dramatic Westland nature, where you can spend the night on your next adventure on Sunnmøre. After the mountain tour, you can enjoy good, local food in our restaurant.

Havila Hotel Ivar Aasen is located in the heart of Ørsta, a charming small town by the beautiful Ørstafjord in Møre og Romsdal, surrounded by the majestic Sunnmørsalps. You can get here easily by plane, to Ørsta-Volda Airport, Hovden (HOV). You can also drive the E39 through the beautiful fjord landscape in Western Norway or cross the high mountains in central Norway, for example on the R15 over Strynefjellet. There are also several express bus routes from the larger cities in Norway through Ørsta. By car and bus, you can cross the fjords by ferry.
