Are you ready to put Geiranger on the culinary map and elevate our restaurants to new heights?

We are seeking a skilled, creative, playful, and ambitious Head Chef who, together with our management team, will help develop our restaurants into an extraordinary dining experience.

You’ll have the opportunity to further develop our concepts and menus. You’re passionate about culinary culture, local ingredients, and have a genuine desire to create exciting, new flavors in harmony with sustainability and tradition. You enjoy engaging with guests, and are comfortable presenting and serving your own dishes in the restaurant. You’re confident that the quality of dishes from your kitchen will meet and exceed our guests’ expectations.

This is a full-time, year-round position.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily management and responsibility for the hotel’s kitchens
  • Ensuring kitchen routines are followed
  • Fostering a positive work environment where everyone supports each other, both within your departments and across the hotel
  • Collaborating with the management team to actively work on developing the hotel as a whole
  • Working on result improvements and activity plans for the kitchen
  • Staying updated on Havila Hotels brand standards and safety routines
  • Responsible for the hotel’s food safety system
  • Managing personnel systems, including Simplyer, Tidsbanken, and others
  • Participating in operations and management meetings, as well as holding department meetings and staff evaluations
  • Participating in planning meetings with clients as needed
  • Concept development
  • Responsible for the daily operations and strategic development of the kitchen
  • Staffing and scheduling
  • Inventory control, budgeting, purchasing, and stock management
  • Planning menus for events and activities
  • Quality assurance in both production and service
  • Maintaining high standards at all levels

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Fluent in Norwegian and at least proficient in English
  • Experience in à la carte, hotel, and banquet kitchens
  • Solid understanding of financials
  • Contributes to a joyful atmosphere for both guests and staff
  • Reports to the Director
  • Overall responsibility for the kitchen
  • Responsible for kitchen staff
