Staff for Summer Season at Havila Hotel Geiranger

Geiranger is one of Norway’s most popular travel destinations. Havila Hotel Geiranger is located right on the Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Norway’s top tourist attractions. The hotel has 151 guest rooms, 2 restaurants, and 2 bars. We are looking for staff from April to October, with the possibility of an earlier start or later finish.

Receptionists and Night Receptionists

Responsibilities:

  • Check-in and check-out of guests, acting as their first and last point of contact.
  • Provide information about activities in the area.
  • Customer service.
  • Answer questions at the front desk, by phone, and by email.
  • Assist with bookings.
  • Work in the lobby bar as part of the reception role.
  • Take shifts in our gallery/shop.
  • Focus on upgrades, upselling, and activity sales.

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in a Scandinavian language and English.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Friendly, positive, and with a great sense of humor.
  • Guest-focused, aiming to create a memorable experience.
  • Independent, organized, and responsible.
  • Strong communication skills and good interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Protel is an advantage.
  • Understanding of economical and cost-effective operations.

Chefs

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare breakfast, group meals, and à la carte dishes.
  • General food preparation.
  • Dishwashing and kitchen cleaning.

Qualifications:

  • Certified chef with good references or similar experience.
  • Preferably fluent in a Scandinavian language and proficient in English.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Service-minded and organized.
  • Team player who thrives in a busy environment.
  • Solution-oriented and structured.
  • Approaches challenges with a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of internal food safety control (IK-mat).
  • Understanding of economical and cost-effective operations.

Restaurant & Kitchen Assistants

Responsibilities:

  • Dishwashing.
  • Assist in the kitchen with basic tasks as needed.
  • Assist in the restaurant with cleaning, food service, setting tables, and buffet setup.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a dishwasher/kitchen assistant or similar role.
  • Preferably fluent in a Scandinavian language and proficient in English.
  • Service-minded and organized.
  • Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible with tasks and working hours.
  • Understanding of economical and cost-effective operations.
  • Positive attitude.

Breakfast & Lunch Servers

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and tidy the restaurant.
  • Dishwashing.
  • Refill food and drinks.
  • Set up the restaurant.
  • Serve food and drinks.
  • Handle payments from guests.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Fluent in English; a Scandinavian language is an advantage.
  • Positive, guest-focused, and service-minded.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a server or similar service job.
  • Interest in food and beverages, preferably with wine/beer knowledge.
  • Upselling focus in the restaurant.
  • Strong communication and service orientation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
  • Fluent in English; a Scandinavian language is an advantage.
  • Positive, guest-centered, and service-oriented.

Bartenders

Responsibilities:

  • Provide recommendations to guests.
  • Knowledgeable about the menu.
  • Take orders for food and drinks.
  • Serve food and drinks.
  • Mix cocktails and other beverages.
  • Restock items and keep the bar and area clean and tidy.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age 20.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a bartender.
  • Knowledge of coffee machines and preparation is a plus.
  • Interest in drink and food pairing.
  • Strong communication and service skills.
  • Fluent in English; a Scandinavian language is an advantage.
  • Positive, guest-centered, and service-oriented.
  • Ability to stay organized and calm under pressure.

Cleaners

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning of rooms and common areas.

  • Experience in a similar role.

Maintenance Workers

  • Baggage service.
